This series of oil paintings on canvas explores the performative nature of smiling for the camera. I drew inspiration from my niece and nephews and the ways they interact with the camera when being photographed. Each painting captures a brief moment of joy and, in some cases, connection, highlighting the complex yet universal experience of smiling and performing for lenses that preserve these moments for a lifetime.
